Getting to Wadi Rum by Car
If you have a rental or private car, getting to Wadi Rum is simple. You can drive directly to Wadi Rum from Aqaba, Petra, Amman, the Dead Sea, or other destinations in Jordan. When you arrive, stop first at the Wadi Rum Visitor Center, then continue to Wadi Rum Village where we meet our guests.

The closest main city to Wadi Rum, useful if you are coming from hotels, beaches, the airport, or the Red Sea area.
Petra / Wadi Musa
About 2 hours
A common route for travelers coming to Wadi Rum after visiting Petra.
Amman
About 4 hours
A longer drive from Jordan’s capital and the main airport area to Wadi Rum.
Dead Sea
About 4 hours
Usually easier by private car or taxi, with scenic desert roads leading south toward Wadi Rum.

How to Get to Wadi Rum by Bus or Taxi
If you do not have a car, you can get to Wadi Rum by taxi or bus. Taxis are the easiest choice for direct transfers from Aqaba, Petra, Amman, or the Dead Sea, while buses are more limited and usually work better from nearby cities such as Aqaba or Petra. Most arrivals first stop at the Wadi Rum Visitor Center before continuing to Wadi Rum Village.

From Aqaba
Transport from Aqaba to Wadi Rum
Aqaba is the closest main city to Wadi Rum and one of the easiest places to travel from before your desert tour or overnight stay. You can travel by taxi from Aqaba City, South Beach, Tala Bay, or Aqaba Airport directly to the Wadi Rum Visitor Center or Wadi Rum Village. Bus options may also be available, but schedules and prices can change.
